Wedding Photographer Nova Scotia - Anka Goold Photography

I’m Anka Goold

I go by Anka or Anna, but whatever you call me, know this:

I’ve got a real case of photography FOMO

That just means I never, ever want to miss a moment and will have my camera up — scanning, observing, and snapping away all day when I’m with you. I’ll get the shot—even if it means I’ve got to crawl under a table (which I’ve done hundreds of times).

I never half-ass anything. I bring my whole-ass self to your wedding, which yeah, sometimes means I climb my whole self up on a counter to get that perfect angle.

Can’t wait to show up whole (ass and all) to your wedding!

I’m so happy with the experience my husband and I received from Anka! The wedding was beautiful and she was so amazing at making everyone feel comfortable and laugh and that means the world to me.

My own wedding photos had all the personality of a jellyfish

Sad, but true. Sigh.

Which is why I’m so determined to make sure no one else is disappointed with their images! I never, ever want you to look at your wedding photography and feel … meh. My wedding photos felt nothing like the big love I felt for my Tony, who’s now my husband of fifteen (!!!) years.

That right there is the driving force behind everything I do — the reliable communication, the clear direction, the care, and service that I show
to all my couples from word one. I put my whole dang heart into making sure you see yourselves in every frame.

Take a peek at some of what I can do for you below, then let’s chat …

The path less followed
That’s where you’ll find me

I’m a blend of all the places and experiences that have led to this moment, and I think that helps me view the world through a different lens ( see what I did there? 😂). I appreciate every interesting way people live and love and set out each day to show others what makes them them.

I do that with my camera and my canvases. I can still remember the moment I fell in love with art. I’d woken with the sun and watched the way light and dark filtered through the gaps in the blinds. I was struck with this overwhelming thought: “How is it possible to love something as much as I love this moment right now?”

I’ve been chasing down that feeling ever since.

I want to capture the precise moment of pure, golden love and turn it into something that’ll last.

Okay, I’m not always over here with the deep thoughts. Case in point…

WORDS MY TONY AND I HAVE MADE UP:

Batest — best meets greatest … aka Today is going to be the absolute batest!

Theirchother — our daughter’s take on “each other” that’s stuck … aka Look how much they love theirchother! It’s getting Juuuicy!

Your turn! Any words you two have created? If not — let’s come up with some silly ones during photos to help you ease into the session.

And while you’re here…

What do goats and saxophones have in common? I’m interested in both. Learning sax is on my ever-growing to-do list. I also want to own a goat. And if I can’t own a goat (yet!) I want to photograph couples getting married on farms where I can say hi to the goats.

Find us running headlong toward adventure. One of my favorite family activities is picking a new spot and getting the heck out there. Road trips, windswept beaches, forest-fringed lakes, frakking adorable small towns. We’ve done it all.

I’m a little nutty. Or the more appropriate way to say that … I’m all about thinking outside the box. Like, way outside. AKA I’m a crazy good problem solver and have an eye for creative solutions. It’s a real yes, and … approach that I learned in improv.
